Student Learning at ÃØÉ«´«Ã½

In conjunction with our ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ College Learning Framework, ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ Central provides the opportunity for both students and parents to engage with the classroom learning. Parent access to their daughter’s subject class pages enables direct access to daily classroom learning and home learning tasks. On the class pages, parents and students can also access the Student Overview. The Student Overview outlines all unit topics and key assessment dates and is a useful tool in assisting students to develop strong organisation skills.

Home Learning at ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ College

All Year 7 Parents and Guardians received an email this week regarding the commencement of Home Learning. The email included the Year 7 Academic Calendar, which can also be accessed via the ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ Central Parent Portal and on ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ Central Student Zone. This calendar is a useful tool in assisting your daughter with her transition into ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ and developing time management skills. The following is a guide per year level regarding the amount of time that students should spend on home learning:

Year 7: 60-90 minutes per day
Year 8: 60-90 minutes per day
Year 9: 90 minutes per day
Year 10: 90-120 minutes per day
Year 11: 2-3 hours per day
Year 12: 3-4 hours per day

If you have any questions or difficulties accessing the ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ Central Parent Portal or the online feedback, please contact IT help at the College on 9835 0200 or ithelp@siena.vic.edu.au
