This term, our language students of Years 9 and 10 celebrated their engagement with the language that they learn at ÃØÉ«´«Ã½ College by sharing their favourite word.
In Mandarin, French and Italian, students were given the chance to express themselves and illustrate their penchant for a word of their choice.
All students chose words for a variety of reasons: some chose a word because it sounded funny, others chose one that reminded them of a pleasant experience, while others selected a word that has a special meaning to them.
It was a fantastic opportunity for them to realise that while languages can be shared by millions of people, words can have very personal and intimate meanings.
